The Chapel: Stone Upon Stone — Summer 2026 Construction Update
The apse vault stands complete, and the monks have turned to carving and setting the granite that will clothe the Chapel’s exterior walls this summer.

The New Mount Carmel Foundation, Inc. was organized to serve the temporal needs of the Monks of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel by bringing together donations from disparate sources and facilitating the purchase and development of a new monastery for this rapidly growing community of young Monks. You can learn more about the Monks here.

Little formal or organized support exists for the monastic orders, so this Foundation was organized in 2008 to undertake a twofold mission in service of an identified need: to receive donations from well-intentioned faithful toward the purchase of a remote mountainous property and to subsequently develop it so that it might become the home of the Monks of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel. In 2010 this Foundation purchased a parcel of land nestled in the mountains near Meeteetse, Wyoming. After the initial infrastructure was finished, construction of the monastery buildings began in 2014. In 2019 the monks moved into the completed portion of the monastery. Construction is in progress to finish the remaining sections of the monastery.

Each phase of the construction is 100% funded (through the generosity of benefactors and the work of the Monks) so that there is no debt. Everything that is built is fully paid for.
